I’m going to start this review off by saying that I absolutely love this system. I was looking for a little bit “more” than stock without getting into sounding obnoxious. If there’s one thing I can’t stand it’s pickup trucks with dragster style exhaust systems. I don’t get it, and I can’t stand it when I hear it. What I DO like, on the other hand, is a nice quiet system when driving normal, but with a mean “growl” when on the gas, and this system is exactly that. I’ll be honest and say that I really like the stock system, it just didn’t have the tone or the growl when heavy on the pedal. This is actually my second aftermarket system. The first one I bought was an MBRP single 3.5″ powder coat black system that was described as having a very deep sound but with an overall tame sound, and with little to no drone…….well, this was FAR from the truth. That system was exactly what I just described that I hated. It was deep alright, almost as deep as turn downs, and sounded like a big rig when on the gas. Oh yeah, and the drone……can you say migraine?? The drone was just insane. After only one week, I ripped that trash off, and put this Borla Touring system on, and it’s music to my ears. I’m back to near stock at idle with just a little rumble, and a nice flowmaster/magnaflow tone throughout the rpm range during normal driving, and a nice medium to loud growl when on the gas…..perfect and classy. Oh yeah, and what about the drone you ask?….What drone?? I honestly think there is LESS drone than with the stock system, seriously, it’s that quiet in the cab. All you hear is the awesome tone right out the exhaust tips, and nowhere else. All of this being said, if you want a more “race car” type sound, look at the “S Type” system instead because I don’t think this system will be loud enough for you, but if you just want more than stock and with a better sound without trying to sound like a dragster, then this is the system for you. Oh yeah, almost forgot, this is the Ford Racing system…..literally. Borla sells their Touring system to Ford rebranded with the Ford Racing logos on it, so if it’s good enough for Ford, then it’s certainly good enough for me.
