The composition displays elegant stylised orchid blooms in soft ivory and pink tones set against rich shades of deep aubergine, warm orange and green foliage, all framed by a glossy dark ground. The raised tube-lining creates a sculptural effect, with the hand-applied glazes giving depth and subtle variation to the colours. The design reflects the flowing organic forms associated with Moorcroft’s decorative tradition and makes a striking display piece. The base bears the printed Moorcroft mark Made in Stoke-on-Trent England along with the impressed marks and the designer’s signature. The plate is individually numbered 66 from a limited edition of 400. The piece remains in excellent condition with no damage or losses and presents beautifully.
