“Saab style” clutch release bearing for original Van Diemen clutch setup for ’89-current and many FF1600 applications: Note: Many cars have been converted over the years to run non-OEM clutch releases, such as Tilton hydraulic release bearings (HRBs), that DO NOT use this bearing. This bearing is not used with an external slave cylinder. It does not fit any Tilton hydraulic release bearings. A worn-out bearing can tighten up or even seize, spinning the piston and causing seal failure. In extreme cases, the piston can be damaged and the entire assembly must be replaced. A new bearing is cheap insurance! This bearing snaps onto the snout of the piston. Used with many different clutches, including Tilton, AP, and QuarterMaster 5.5″ and 7-1/4″ racing clutches. Width:14.50mm Inner Diameter: 37.80mm Outer Diameter: 63.30mm Part # FR89N0005. (Original Van Diemen part number). Compatible with FF1600 HRB part number 163-55 used with the Hewland Mk9 gearbox. Alternate part number for this bearing from other suppliers is 163-61.
